March Calendar

Mrs. Holland's class measured acute, right, and obtuse angles using protractor on our classroom tables.

Mrs. Busby's 4th grade students are learning how to measure and label angles.

Mrs. Horton's 1st grade class used a plastic cup with rubber bands to hear the different pitches that are produced. We used a long and a short rubber band so they could hear the different sounds they create. They recorded their observation in their workbooks. #littleleaders #sciencefun

Thanks to the Alabama Power Foundation Mrs. Qualls’ class was able to use grant materials to support her project “Putting Geography in the Hands of Students.” Students were able to use the interactive globes to do student led research on different animals and their habitats for their research writing.

Students in Mrs. Rushing’s class celebrated the end of ACAP testing with a water bar. Students enjoyed choosing a sticker, flavor packet, candy, and straw to build a flavorful treat!

Mrs. Boltz's class is learning about parts of a plant and their functions. The class created their own neighborhood and are observing how plants grow.

“Sip Sip Horray! You rocked ACAP” Ms. Owens’ class enjoyed a cool, refreshing drink today to celebrate completing the ACAP successfully! They showed so much bravery and persevered, even when it was tough! 🎉🥤

Mrs. Smith's class engaged in two digit and single digit addition with a "snowball toss". Students threw their snowballs to mix up their equations. After students picked up a ball from the pile, they checked the sum of the equation.

Mrs. Thomas’s class enjoyed listening to the fictional story “Grouchy Ladybug” to complement their weekly reading of “Grow Ladybug Grow.”

February’s monthly Coke tab winner was Mrs. Lofton’s class. Students celebrated with a cool ice cream sundae.

Students had a great week of ACAP testing. A special thanks to the CHS cheerleaders for helping with a pep rally to motivate students to do their best on the test.

ACAP testing continues tomorrow, March 20th. Reminder: Students are not allowed to have backpacks or digital devices in the testing rooms. Please leave all backpacks at home. Per the digital device policy, all digital devices will be collected from students. This includes cellphones, tablets, smart watches, Fitbits, or any other digital device deemed to violate the ACAP Digital Device policy.

Mrs. Smith's class is learning about the life cycle of a ladybug. Each student drew a stage of the life cycle. The class looked through the illustrations and identified the stage of each picture.
