We will be open for March into Learning on Thursday, March 5 from 4:00 - 6:00.
As of right now, school will be in session as normal tomorrow. Just a reminder, our take-in time is 7:15am and our instructional day begins at 7:45am. ERD students must be in proper school uniform but may wear non-uniform winter jackets, hats and gloves so that they stay warm. Hoodies are also acceptable during the next few days; however, students will be asked to remove them while in the building. If we receive any additional information or weather updates, we will post them on social media and send out messages via SMS messaging.
Pre-K Registration opens today. Pre-registration for Alabama First Class Pre-K opens today! Alabama First Class Pre-K has been ranked as the nation’s highest quality state pre-kindergarten program for 19 consecutive years, and MCPSS has Alabama First Class Pre-K classrooms in schools around the county. If you have a child who will be 4 years old on or before September 1, begin the application process for the 2026-27 school year today.
Thanksgiving Break
We want to personally thank all the families who have already participated in our Reading for Education fundraiser! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed.
If your family has not participated, there's still time!
This safe and easy fundraiser is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached.

Tuesday, September 23 is School Picture Day!
All students must be in proper school uniform for pictures. These pictures will be available for purchase as well as used in the yearbook.
Distant Learning Day - Monday, September 22
There will be NO in person school this day. All students will bring home assignments from their teachers to complete at home. All assignments are due Tuesday, September 23.

Please meet us in the gym for the parent meeting. Following the meeting, parents are encouraged to join PTO, visit classrooms and shop with our Partners in Education.
Blaine Hayaski brings over 13 years of experience in education, having served at Pillans Middle School, Citronelle High School, Vigor High School, Semmes Middle School, and Mary G. Montgomery High School.
He has taught a variety of history courses, including Advanced Placement classes at the high school level. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are excited to have Mr. Hayaski join the admin team at E.R. Dickson and we are looking forward to a fantastic school year ahead!
