Bio
Welcome to Mrs. Tomlinson's Page! I am a proud mom of four beautiful, compassionate, motivated children. I have an adopted son 23, and daughter 21 who were in gifted classes and who are now successful individuals "chasing the dream". I also have a set of boy/girl twins who are now 14. One is your average student an the other is in special education classes and suffers with ADHD, dyslexia, and a spinal disorder that causes several health issues. So, as a mom and your child's teacher, I do understand your child may have special needs. I was not always a teacher. I have worked as an ultra-sound tech and a nurse in the hospital. I have been a stay-at-home mom and a business owner. When my oldest children were in elementary school I was a volunteer for ESL, tutoring, room mom, office, and I worked in the library at their school.  It was at that time I discovered my love of working with children and felt my calling to become a teacher. I graduated with my bachelors degree in elementary education 2010 and finished my M.E.D. in school counseling in December of 2013.I am so blessed to work with you and your child making a difference for the future. I am always here for you so please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any assistance. The best ways to contact me are : Email @ mfarhat@mcpss.com, Remind 101, or through Schoology. .I am also a published author. I am currently writing a series of children's counseling books. My first one is "What Happens if They Believe a Lie is True. It was published under my previous name (Mary Farhat). If you would like me to autograph a book for you, I am always happy to write a personal inscription to your child. Don't hesitate to ask!
