Welcome to the first grade! My name is Emily Baker and I will be your child's teacher this year.  I am a graduate of the University of South Alabama where I received both my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Elementary Education.  This is my eighth year teaching first grade at E.R. Dickson. 

     My hobbies include reading, running, and home improvements.  I also love to sing but have been sidelined by vocal issues.  I am a St. Jude runner and I participate in the annual St. Jude Memphis to Mobile Run to raise money for St. Jude hospital. 

      I truly believe that education is the key to overcoming any obstacle.  I love being a teacher and helping students to learn to love school and learning if they don't already when they enter my door.  I look forward to getting to know your children and seeing what they are good at and helping them become the great people that they are meant to be.
