“Building from yesterday, learning today, shaping tomorrow”

Dear Parents,

It gives me great pleasure to greet you as the newly appointed principal of E.R. Dickson Elementary School. It is indeed an honor and a privilege to have been afforded such an opportunity as this. I, along with the superb staff at Dickson, look forward to a spectacular 2013-14 school year filled with varied learning experiences and opportunities for our children.

E.R. Dickson Elementary is a school rich with a legacy of outstanding academic achievement and being a frontrunner in academic initiatives and accomplishments. As the leader of this school, I plan to continue to build upon the well established legacy of excellence.

As parents, your support is solicited in numerous ways to assist in keeping our school ranked as one of the premier elementary schools in Mobile, the state of Alabama and the nation. I welcome your participation and I value your input. I strongly encourage you to become active with the E.R. Dickson PTA and to participate in upcoming school activities, meetings, etc. You will be well informed of our school activities in a multitude of ways.

The instructional staff at E.R. Dickson is committed to providing high-quality instruction and has been well-trained on current, research-based educational practices to foster student growth on all levels. It is our desire for your child to have a well-rounded experience at E.R. Dickson and an experience that prepares your child for the curricular rigor and demands of middle and high school and beyond. This will be accomplished by exposing your child frequently to the College and Career Standards as outlined in the State of Alabama’s Plan 2020.

The Best is Yet to Come at E.R. Dickson Elementary and I am looking forward to embarking on another spectacular year. Please feel free to contact me via email at or you may contact the school office at 251-221-1180 to schedule an appointment. I look forward to knowing you and your children this year.

Thanks in advance for your support.
